Easiest Bag Ever!

I made this bag for my little girl, for her church bag. She loves it and I loved it because it was so easy!

Here is how you do it, are you ready?

Materials: A Fabric Place Mat, Ribbon, and a Sewing Machine.

First thing I did was sew the ribbon on, there really isn't any rhyme or reason to my sewing so I don't know how many inches apart, I pinned it and sewed where I thought it looked good and copied it on the other side.

You can use as much or as little ribbon as you want to use for the handles, I just put as much as I thought looked good, but you can use as much or as little as you think looks good for the look your going for.

Second: I just sewed up the sides of the Place Mat, and WA-la that's it!

This is what it looks like from the inside. I also burnt the edge of the ribbon so it wouldn't fray.

I wish there was a little more to this tutorial but I love how easy it was! We made these in my church a long time ago and I always wanted to do them again. I'm so glad that it was as easy as I remember!

Yummy Chocolate Chip Cookies

I think everyone has their favorite recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies, and here is mine.

I love it, because my husband loves it, and he's pretty hard to please. :)

This is also the best recipe I've found for making lots and then freezing it so you can have a batch whenever you want! I love it!

It says to add nuts, but we're not nut fans so we don't add those and they still are wonderful!

Here is the recipe:

3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
2 1/4 cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts
1 package (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips (2 cups)

  1. 1 Heat oven to 375ºF
  2. 2 Mix sugars, butter and egg in large bowl. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt (dough will be stiff). Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
  3. 3 Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. 4 Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown (centers will be soft). Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.

Picture Hanger

So my little sister is going to the college by our house, and she lives in this great little house with 7 other girls(that's a lot of girls in one house!). She doesn't have a whole lot of space, and she loves having pictures everywhere! She just found this cute little picture hanger at IKEA in the picture section and put it over her window.

It didn't have enough little hang-y down things(yes, that's the technical term:)) so she just took some mardi-gras beads and made her own hang-y things from them. I thought this was a great addition to her little crazy room!

My little sister and I just put some striped curtains up in her room and I think they turned out pretty darn good, being the first time we've ever tried something like this!

We got the material at IKEA and just sewed the edge on all sides except for one(because she really like the natural fringe), and then we hung them with these great circle hang-y things that they sell at IKEA for super cheap, so we didn't have to worry about sewing the holes for the rod to go through.

I Love Weddings!

My cute cousin just got married last week, and it is always so fun to share the day with the two lovebirds! To see how happy and excited they are to start this new part of their life, it's always a lot of fun!

The colors of their wedding were yellow and blue, because that's the color of their personality(from the color code book). I thought that was a really cute way of personalizing it!

My cousin said that he had been in love with this girl since he was in grade school, he said he had always been partial to red-heads(that's her hair color:)) so that's why he always loved "The Little Mermaid." It was really cute, and I always love all the little romantic stuff(I'm a sap!).

I made these wedding glasses for them as a present.

My little sister draws the pictures and I transfer them so that I can cut them out using the cricut.

St. Patrick's Day

I love holiday's! It makes life a little more fun! I've never really done anything for St. Patrick's day but this year I really wanted to make sure to celebrate as many holiday's as I could to start the "making fun memories" for my little kids!

Plus my husbands name is Patrick so he thinks this is another one of "his day's"(and he has a lot of those:))

So we didn't do too much I just cut out some shamrocks and made a little trail going to a prize in the kitchen. It was so fun to see my little girls face when she woke up to see her door(it was worth taking the time last night to get this done!).

T- Shirt Vinyl

So I just finished a new image(it's so darn cute), and put it on a T- Shirt for my little girl. This was my first time doing T- shirt vinyl so it took us a couple times to get it right, but it was a lot of fun trying something new.

Easy Pees-y YUMMY Caramel

This is BY FAR the yummiest and easiest caramel you will ever try!!! I don't recommend making it often because eating the whole pan it a possibility(I'm not kidding).
So everyone try it and tell me what you think!

My mom would make this when we were younger, but not often because we would eat it so fast! I brought some of this over to my parents for my dad's birthday and it was gone before everyone had even gotten there. This is way good!

1/2 c sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c sweetened condensed milk
1/2 c white corn syrup
1/2 c butter

Put it all in a bowl and microwave on high for three minutes, take it out and mix it together, and then microwave for another three minutes.
Pour the mixture into a buttered pan and let it sit for 20 min. to cool. THAT'S IT!!

You will love this, I'm not kidding!!

The finished product. It doesn't make a lot so doubling it works just as well, so so yummy!

Sunny Surfer. . .

I want summer sooo bad! This winter has been too long! When my sister(Rochelle, the amazing artist) drew this one, I wanted to put it everywhere as a reminder that winter is not going to last forever!

Paper Baby Shoes

I made these baby shoes for a couple baby showers that I helped with. The boy shoe's were from my sister-in-laws and the girl shoe's were from my little sisters baby shower. Both these showers were a couple months ago, I still have a couple girl shoes left and a couple boy shoes left, I thought it would be cute to give them to friends when they have their babies(just attached to the top of the gift with some candy in it). Every time my husband see's them he wants to throw them out(he's lame like that) so I had to get them up before they are gone forever!
So. . . Fill them with candy and everyone will love them!! Because who doesn't love candy, and babies(it's a win/win combination)

Be Attitudes

There is a little boy in my church that is doing a fund raiser, for his Scout Project and everyone was asked to donate something that can be auctioned off for a little money. I don't know how much this will make, but here is my contribution.

I like the mom and dad bee on both side, like they are standing guard for their kids(haha, always watching:))

p.s. I took it at a bad angle and all the words look smished, but it doesn't look that bad in real life.

Casacade Rules

So I did one more sign for my dad's classroom. He needed the school motto to look nice, so this is what I came up with. This little girl in the corner is one of our new creations. I love the dress.

(I know that I really messed up on the spacing, but I was in "get-er-done mode" as my husband likes to call it. It's still cute, and doesn't matter what he says!)

So these past couple weeks my husband and I have wanted to know more about our family history. My husband started looking up his genealogy charts and it turns out that it looks like there was some royalty(way, way, way back) he thinks he's pretty darn special and likes to slip this info into any conversation.
So I made him a sign to show him that he married royalty. He looked at it this morning and said "I don't think you understand what royalty is, just because your name is on that sign doesn't mean that your really royalty." But turns out he's wrong and when you put your name under royalty you feel pretty darn royal :)

I really made this sign to go into my mom's playroom for the kids. One day I might make one with all the grand-kids names on it, but right now this is just me and my brothers and sisters. I think it will look pretty cute in the toy room.

Poor Britt's has some problems with the board cracking, but I think that this little girl fits my tween-age(I don't think that's a word) little sister so well. This little princess is so full of attitude(a lot like my little sister)

Soccer Queen Kim

One of my good friends little sisters is a huge soccer queen, so when we were doing this soccer girl then I kept thinking of her, hence the name Kim. My little niece was also really excited about this soccer girl(but we already named one after her). I love soccer, I can't play it worth beans but I sure love it! So here is the new Soccer Player Kim, I hope you like her!

Presenting Princess Sophia

Princess Sophia was also named by my wonderful husband, my little girl really wanted to name her Sandee(after one of her aunts) but my husband won, I'm sure they'll be a Sandee eventually. My little girl loves these princesses, she carries these big boards around the house to play with(I know it's not super safe so we try to stop her). I love all these princesses, what girl doesn't dream of being a princess?

Class Room Signs

My dad is a 5th grade teacher, and he asked me to make some signs for his room. Here is what I came up with. He gave me the wording for the first sign(if you know my dad you'll know it sounds just like him) and then I made the boy and girl to go on his spotlight board. This little girl is new, her name is Sweet Ali, the boy is the groom from before.
The blog always cuts off part of my pictures(I don't know how to fix it, sorry!).
